Tanganyika / Hemingway and Up-Country Swahili

I've just posted a short article on my East African Notes and Records blog (http://notesandrecords.blogspot.com/) about Ernest Hemingway's use of Swahili in his Green Hills of Africa (1935) (see http://notesandrecords.blogspot.com/2010/10/bad-swahili-and-pidgin-swahili-in.html). I'd welcome comments on this and especially any recollections and observations that forum members have on the past and present use of "Up-Country Swahili" (= Kisettla = Kitchen Swahili) in N Tanzania and elsewhere in E Africa. Asante sana, mingi tena!
